Welcome to The Good Neighbour

The Good Neighbour Inc. is a transnational, non-governmental, non-profit making organization. TGN is a health based organization that implements community interventions among most at risk populations and engages in health policy issues. The community interventions are in the public health and related issues like Tuberculosis, sexual and reproductive health including Human Immuno-deficiency Virus & Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS).

History

TGN began operations in Nigeria in September 2001 having been registered and operating in Monrovia, Liberia since Nov.1998. TGN is registered in Nigeria with the Corporate affairs commission, Abuja.

Our Work

Our work in the field of HIV/AIDS programs is focused on community mobilization and advocacy that promotes health policy action and biomedical HIV prevention research and development, prevention, work place intervention, networking, prevention of mother to child HIV transmission and impact mitigation program like poverty reduction.

Our Focus

Our focus areas in tuberculosis programme are Active case finding. Contact tracing and referral. Treatment support; Follow up for diagnosis; Counselling; Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilisation (ACSM); TB/HIV Collaborative Activities; Community TB care; Advocacy for Patients rights to comprehensive care.

Recognition 2015

In a global social innovative solution to health care delivery competition organised by Tropical Disease Research Institute South Africa hosted by WHO and supported by UNICEF and UNDP.

TGN pilot Active Case Finding on TB was selected as one of the top hundred social innovative solution to healthcare delivery that impacted the lives of the poor.
